BRIDGEND TOWN
versus Taffs Well
Fri 29th October @ 7.30pm
The ground has had extensive redevelopment since Brewery Field Ltd took over the lease from Dekor chief Leighton Samuel in March 2009.
Cash has been spent on impressive new changing rooms, a sports bar and a relaxed cafe area, but more importantly for the fans, the rugby club’s memorabilia and old photographs are back on the walls.
Both Bridgend Ravens and joint tenants Bridgend Town soccer club have high hopes for the season ahead with promotion to their respective Welsh premier divisions the ultimate aim. And selling the naming rights for the 130-year-old stadium is the latest step to sever ties with the old Samuel era and help secure the financial future for both clubs.
Brewery Field chairman Derrick King said: “We are extremely pleased to be able to announce the awarding of the naming rights to Riverside Hardware, who everyone in the Bridgend area knows to be a well-established and extremely successful local business. The ultimate aim of Brewery Field Ltd is to secure the long-term future of the club for both the Bridgend Ravens and Bridgend Town AFC.
“This is a major step in achieving that ultimate goal. It is also pleasing that we are able to achieve it with a company who have a long association with the town of Bridgend. Riverside Hardware, with our other loyal sponsors, are making a major contribution to ensure that the stadium continues to be the flagship sports ground in the borough.”
Riverside Hardware Bridgend branch manager Ryan Woodbridge said: “A big thank-you to the Brewery Field for offering us this opportunity to work in partnership with them over the next three seasons, and what better way than securing the naming rights to the stadium to show our commitment to both the Bridgend Ravens and Bridgend Town.
“I am sure that by securing the naming rights we can all look forward to taking great strides towards securing Premiership rugby and Welsh Premier League Football at the Riverside Hardware Brewery Field next season, as both sides strive for promotion this term.”
Signs have gone up around the outside of the ground but there are more to go up inside the newly named Riverside Hardware Brewery Field.
